Mick Gower's Indian Recipes

Sheek Kebab

  • 1½ lb Finely minced beef
  • ½ tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger powder
  • 2 tbsp Curry powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri masala
  • 1 Beaten egg
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Self-raising flour
  • 2 tbsp Plain flour
  • 2 Medium onions, peeled and finely chopped

Mix and knead all the ingredients together until stiff, take a small amount of the mixture at a time and roll it into a ball, roll it beween your palm until sausage shaped and then flatten it out. Wrap it round a skewer and press onto the skewer to make a sausage shape again.

Brush a frying pan lightly with cooking oil and arrange the skewers not more than four at a time in the pan under a pre-heated grill, under a medium flame, turn frequently and cook until brown and well cooked.
Serve with salad or minty yoghurt sauce.
