The US federal regulatory body for wine is the Bureau of Alcohol,Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) which defines wine as "the product of the juice of sound, ripe grapes." Wine, as the word used in the wine industry is defined as "the product of fermenting and processing grape juice or must."
