THE KINGDOM GROCERY STORE

I was walking down life's highway a long time ago.
One day I saw a sign that said the Kingdom Grocery Store.
I got a little close and the door opened wide -
When I came to myself I was standing inside.

I saw a host of storekeepers standing everywhere,
One handed me a basket and said to shop with care.
Everything a Christian needs was in that grocery store.
What you couldn't carry today, you could come back for more.

First, I got some love and joy; they were in the same row,
Further down was peace, you need it everywhere you go.
I reached for a box of longsuffering, and there a bag of kindness laid.
And I just couldn't miss goodness for it was all over the place.

Then I took some faith and mildness to help me win the race.
Now my basket was really getting heavy from the load,
But I remembered that I must; have some self control.
I didn't forget the Kingdom Truth, for the Kingdom Truth was free,
So I tried to get enough of them, some for you and some for me.

Then I started up to the counter to pay my grocery bill,
For I thought I had everything to do the Master's will.
As I went through the aisle, I say a little prayer,
I just had to put that in - to give God all my cares.

Hope and endurance were plentiful; they were on the last shelf.
Songs and praises were standing near, so I just had to help myself.
Kingdom Service was in every aisle so I took some for each day,
The grocer said "This is one you will keep as long as you give it away."

Now I went to the storekeeper and asked -"How much do I owe?"
He just smiled and said "Take them with you everywhere you go."
"Really" I said, "How much do I owe?" He smiled at me and said,
"My dear sister, Jesus Christ paid your bill a long time ago."
