All Gave Some
Some Gave All

On this Memorial Day, Let's all remember the 58,169 Americans,
shown on the Viet Nam Memorial Wall,
Who Died or are Missing In Action.
Those who served their Country before and since,
Who died in other wars defending our Freedom.
And say , Thank you

Written by General Butterfield
with an assist from his Bugler, Oliver Norton
In 1862

"Fading light dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar drawing nigh -- Falls the night.

"Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky.
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

"Then good night, peaceful night,
Till the light of the dawn shineth bright,
God is near, do not fear -- Friend, good night."

We remember with compassion,
those who have died serving their Country

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall was conceived by Jan Scruggs,
who served in Vietnam (1969-1970) as an infantry corporal with the
199th Light Infantry Brigade. It contains 58,000+ names of servicemen and
women who gave their lives in Vietnam. Designer of the wall was Ohioan
Maya Ying Lin, a Yale University student at the time. Dedicated on
Memorial Day in 1982, The Wall serves as a memorial to those who
sacrificed their lives and also for those who, thankfully, came home.

A Man is never dead, Until He is Forgotten.

May we never forget those who served
and are serving to protect our Freedom.
