Kali frowned as she glared in frustration at the computer screen before her. She was about ready to stomp on it!!!!! Groaning in aggravation, she cussed the thing loudly and with feeling, as she spun her swivel chair around, turning her back to the offensive piece of equipment!
After getting her degree in computer science, she had started her own graphics design business, running it out of her three room apartment. One day soon, she would have to look for a bigger place, her business stuff taking up most of the small apartment. With everything neatly arranged, it still looked like a software storage facility.
The design she was having problems with was a logo for a new restaurant that was scheduled to open at the end of the month. And for some STUPID reason, she couldn't get the design to work!
"ARGH!" She uttered in disgust, turning back to give the side of the monitor, a healthy whack!
Just then, the phone rang, and she looked at it with the same annoyance she'd shown the computer. "SPEAK!" she snarled into the mouth piece, after grabbing the offensive thing.
"Well! Hello to you too!" Judy laughed at her friend's bad temper!
Laughing in return, Kali apologized for the grumpy greeting. "This design is driving me CRAZY! Oh well! Maybe I just need to get away from this for a while! What's up?" Kali got up and walked away from her computer, carrying the cordless phone with her. Walking through the door, into her bedroom, Kali picked up her cigarettes, lighting one up.
"WELL! I just received an obscene amount of money as commission of that last sale, and I'd like to spend some of it! Are you up for it?" Judy asked, the forced gaiety coming through loud and clear.
"Ahmmm, sure! What do you have in mind? And is your hubby going to object?" Kali was curious as to why she was being asked, rather than Dave!
Judy didn't say anything at first, still too hurt by his rejection of the idea. "He, ah, Dave has other plans! So I thought about my best buddy!"
Kali heard the pain in her friend's voice and wandered what that ass-hole had done this time! "GOOD DEAL! So, what HAVE you got in mind?"
Laughing honestly for the first time all afternoon, Judy outlined the plan! "WELL! I thought we could go to that new casino for openers! You know the one down in the Tri-Cities? Thought we'd make a night of it!"
"Yeah! I know the one! But can we get reservations on such short notice?" Kali was beginning to look forward to getting away! Maybe a short trip was just what the doctor ordered, to take care of the creative block she seemed to have developed!
"No problem! Already made them! You sure you can get away?" Judy didn't want to impose.
"ARE YOU KIDDING? I'd LOVE to go!" Kali was grinning broadly! They talked a few minutes longer, then hung up. Kali began packing for the four day week-end!
As Judy entered her house, she couldn't prevent the sigh from escaping! She had hoped Dave would go with her, and maybe try to work things out! But he had other plans! He would rather spend his time with the new secretary!
Judy drove by his office, parking in back. As she walked by a window there, she happened to glance in and saw Dave holding his latest woman on his lap! Her blouse was unbuttoned, exposing her bare breasts! They were kissing rather passionately, as his hand slid up under her short skirt. Judy stood there, staring in the window, watching her two-timing husband!
Walking around to the front, she entered the deserted insurance office. As she approached her husbands private office, she heard the woman saying she heard something. Just as Judy pushed open the door! Dave had a guilty look on his face as they hastily adjusted their clothing.
"That's it, Dave! I'm filing for divorce!" Judy said coldly. Giving the woman a look of total disgust as she tried to cover herself, Judy left the office without a backward glance.
Twenty minutes later she pulled up in front of her attorney's office. When she came out an hour later, the papers had been prepared. They would be served on Dave the next day!
After letting herself into what WAS "their" house, Judy felt nothing but relief! She went upstairs and packed for her week-end. Within minutes she had changed clothes, packed and was ready to leave.
Kali was ready and waiting when Judy pulled into her drive. Throwing her bag in the back beside Judy's, Kali climbed in the front seat and buckled up. Glancing in Judy's direction, grinning broadly, she said, "Let's Ride!"
Judy couldn't resist Kali's infectious good humor, and laughed out loud, as she backed out of the driveway.
After settling in, the two women went downstairs for some dinner. They were shown to a table near the railing separating the restaurant from the bar. Even at this late hour, both areas were crowded.
The excitement was thick as everyone wanted to see and be seen, at this ritzy new place. Judy and Kali were as excited as the rest of the clientele. This was fun!
As they waited for their drinks, they watched the coming and going of all the "beautiful" people. They even spotted a few celebrities.
"Isn't this fun!" Kali said, looking around. She heard the band tuning up, but was unable to see them from where they were sitting.
Glancing over at the bar, Kali started to look away, but her eyes snapped back to the two rather large male figures, standing there! Taker and Kane! GOOD GAWD! It couldn't be any one else!
Unaware of where Kali's attentions were, Judy looked around with a keen eye! Crystal chandeliers, Irish linen table cloths! She was INDEED impressed!
"DAAMN!!! I'm not believin this shit!" Kali breathed in awe, her eyes on something or someone, behind Judy.
"What is it?" Judy asked curiously. At that moment, the waiter appeared with their dinner salads. She smiled and thanked him.
"ONLY two of WWF's finest!" Kali still had not taken her eyes off the two men!
Judy looked around and found herself staring at the greenest eyes she had ever seen! Her breath caught as she took in the sensual curve of those lips, but it was the eyes that commanded her attention.
Judy felt herself blushing as she realized she had been staring. But, MY GAWD! Those eyes! A woman could lose herself in those eyes! Perhaps forever!
"Oh, I forgot to tell you! We ALSO have tickets to a special show WWF is putting on here tomorrow night to celebrate the opening of this place!" Judy said more than a little distracted, by those green eyes!
"OH MY GAWD! They are coming over!" Kali couldn't believe it, yet here they came!
Later, Kali and Judy could not say how it happened, but Taker and Kane were seated at their table! They were actually having dinner with these two men!
Kali kept glancing at her friend! Judy had been acting strangely all night, and Kali suspected it had something to do with Dave! Judy had told her that she had caught him with yet another woman, then they had arrived at the hotel, and never got around to finishing the conversation! Kali suspected there was more to it than just that!
The two women had known each other for years, and Kali had never seen her act this way! It was almost like Judy was out of control! She was FLIRTING, for Gawd's sake! She had never known Judy to flirt before, not even when she was dating Dave!
Kane studied the woman sitting beside him. She seemed confused by her friend's actions! Judy was nice enough, but this Kali was something! He could get to like her quite a bit!
Kali was acutely aware of Kane sitting beside her. She sneaked glances in his direction from beneath lowered lashes, when she thought he was looking. A small smile curved her lips when their hands happened to touch. It was like nothing she'd ever felt before! In just that casual contact, she sensed the sheer strength, the warmth, and the gentleness, in those huge hands! A shiver of anticipation ran through her, when she thought about those hands on her body!
Judy propped her chin up on her hand. She gazed at Taker with a half-smile on her lips! Her eyes glittered as she looked at the man almost as if she could eat him up! Taker had a smug, self-satisfied smile on his face, as though he knew how this night was going to end, all the while playing with a salad fork.
Kali glanced nerverously at Judy for about the hundreth time. What was up with her, anyway? She was acting way too wierd! Kali didn't like this! Kane had asked her something!
"I'm sorry! What did you say?" Kali turned dark blue eyes up to his hazel ones.
Kane forgot what he had said, as he stared into her incredible eyes! A man could drawn in eyes like that! He wondered how they would look in the heat of passion.
"Kane?" Kali's confused expression was soft and endearing! It touched something deep within Kane's deep chest. Mentally shaking himself, Kane smiled at this tiny woman!
"I'm sorry! Would you take a walk with me?" His deep, husky voice was soft, even intimate.
Surprise widened her eyes! Glancing over at Judy, Kali didn't hesitate to accept his invitation.
"I'd love to!" Turning to Judy, she said, "I'll see you later!" Then got up as Kane held the chair for her. They left the crowded restaurant, his big hand riding the small of her back.
After Kali and Kane left, Judy and Taker continued to sit at the table, talking quietly and playing with their food. "So this is what it's like to seduce a man!" She thought almost angrily. Dave HAD taught her a few things after all! All you had to do was "pretend" to listen, smile tenderly, and gaze hungrily into that one's eyes! It was disgustingly simple! She knew if she wanted to, this man would share her bed tonight! Yet, for all his good looks, all his sex appeal, all his charisma, Judy didn't want him! He reminded her too much of Dave! Not in his looks, but in his attitude!
"So, Taker, are you married?" She asked sweetly.
Taker threw back his glorious head and laughed heartily! "What kind of question is that to ask now?" He asked, neatly avoiding answering her question!
"Hmmmm! Just curious, I guess!" Came her wide eyed reply.
"Would it make a difference?" He asked, that smug look still on his face.
"Not in the slightest!" She replied, totally disgusted with all men right now! ESPECIALLY married men acting single! "But are you?" She pressed the issue!
"Sometimes!" He said, leaning closer intending to caress the curve of her cheek! Taker knew the effect he had on women, knew his eyes could ‘hold' a woman, yet this one seemed to avoid meeting his eyes directly.
"Then I suggest you think about your wife having dinner with another man and saying the same things to him! GOOD NIGHT! It's been...... interesting!" Anger made her eyes glitter dangerously, as she stood up and walked away, leaving a very angry Taker still sitting at the table.
The big man thought about what she'd said! Little did SHE know, but that was EXACTLY what HAD happened! His wife HAD cheated on him! That's why Taker was divorced! That's ALSO why he had little to do with women except in certain situations! Taker had thought this woman was different, but she wasn't!
Chewing his lip angrily, he, too, left the restaurant. While waiting for the elevator, something occurred to him! Just before she turned away, he caught a glimpse of something! Was it anger, pain, or something else, in those rather expressive eyes?
"So! The lady has been hurt!" AND rather recently, he'd bet! And most likely by her husband! Thoughtfully, Taker got on the elevator, going up to his room alone. He intended to find out more about this woman!
~Chapter Two~ Kaliegh
Kali glanced up at Kane as he gently took her hand, steering her toward the elevators after they had left the restaurant. "Where are we going?" She asked curiously when the door slid open and they stepped into the elevator.
Kane gazed down at Kali, momentarily becoming lost in her eyes again. He shook his head slightly when he realized what he was doing, then smiled and answered her question.
"To the top of the hotel. The view from up there is breathtaking." He said softly, his deep voice sending a shiver along Kali's spine.
"There's another bar up there." Kane continued when Kali didn't say anything. "This one is quieter than the one downstairs. We'll be able to talk better there."
Kali had become mesmerized by Kane's massive arms and had not heard a word he had just said. She had never seen arms quite like his and she could not stop her mind from wondering what it would be like to be held in them.
Kali was suddenly jarred out of her thoughts when she felt Kane's hand on her back. She turned and looked up at him with wide, startled eyes.
Kane leaned forward, suddenly wanting very badly to kiss her as he stared into her eyes. Their lips were just inches away from each other's when the elevator door opened. Kali jumped back a step from Kane, her cheeks turning a deep shade of red as she realized what had almost happened and the effect it had on her.
Kane laughed softly as he watched her reaction. Most women would have thrown themselves at him by now. But not this one. Kane knew right then that she was special. Taking her small hand into his much larger one, he led her out of the elevator and down to the bar.
****** Judy prowled around her room like a caged animal, unable to believe the nerve of that green-eyed man. She angrily stubbed out her cigarette as she thought of what his answer was when she had asked him if he was married. She'd had more than enough of men. From then on, she had all but sworn them off.
Judy stopped pacing, suddenly realizing why she had come to this place for the weekend. She had come here to relax and to forget her problems, even if were only for a few days. Grabbing her purse and her cigarettes, Judy left the room and headed back down to the bar, intending to have herself a good time for once.

Chapter Three!~Judy

Kali and Kane were seated at a table by the window. Actually, the entire wall on three sides, was glass! The view of the city below, was breathtaking! Shyly, Kali glanced over at this huge hunk of masculinity. How in the WORLD, had she EVER got lucky enough to not only meet this guy, but to be sitting here having a drink with him. DAMN!! But he was FINE! She DEFINITELY had to remember to thank Judy for bringing her along on this little excursion!
Grinning wickedly without realizing it, she was brought back to the present, by Kane's deep, husky voice. He recognized a wicked grin when he saw one, and wondered at the thoughts that produced it!
"What are you thinking about, blue eyes?" His soft, intimate words sent a delicious ripple of desire racing through her veins!
"Just that I need to remember to thank Judy!" Her voice had taken on a decidedly provocative quality that Kane found very desirable.
Kane found himself thinking about her in his bed naked! Her thoughts were running along the same lines, and it must have shown in her look, judging from his sharply indrawn breath. Kali's pulse raced as she read desire in the look he was giving her. They sat there about another hour, teasing, flirting, and getting to know each other.
Stepping off the elevator, Judy went back to the restaurant, taking a seat at the bar. After ordering her drink, she lit a cigarette and thought about the man with the green eyes. She COULD NOT get him off her mind! "DAMN him and all men!" She thought angrily!
Just as her drink was placed before her, she glanced over at the person just sitting down on the stool to her right, only to find those same green eyes staring back at her!
Groaning irritably, she tossed some money down on the bar to pay for her drink, then got up to leave. Maybe he wouldn't notice if she left! But no such luck!
"So! We meet again!" Taker said pleasantly! The look in his eyes was ANYTHING but pleasant! He had the look of a hunter about him!
"Yes! Unfortunately! If you'll excuse me!" She said, once again preparing to leave. This worrisome man did the same! His intentions were quiet clear! He was going to follow her out!
She got as far as the door leading to the lobby, when he stopped her by taking hold of her arm! She turned cold blue eyes up to his amused green ones!
"Will you PUL-EASE go away and leave me alone?" Never had a total stranger annoyed her so much!
"Have you been to the casino yet? I hear it's exceptional!" His conversational tone only served to irritate her all the more! The NERVE of the man!
Exasperated beyond belief, Judy shook her head, looking away! "Well, I can see I'm not going to have any peace! What do you want? Why won't you go away?" She asked angrily, ignoring the strange looks they were getting from the passers-by.
He wasn't use to this kind of reaction from women! It fascinated him! It was something different! Grinning to himself, he realized he liked the chase, liked being in the role of hunter, for a change!
"Just thought we might check it out! That's all!" The innocent look he gave her, made her feel ashamed of her sharp words. After all, she HAD led him on!
"OK! BUT, that's it! Nothing more! No invitations back to my room!" She said sternly! Her eyes met and held his! This time, no flirting!
Grinning broadly, Taker escorted her to the casino and once there, allowed her to lead the way.
After walking around for a while, Judy finally settled on a Black Jack table! She watched the game in progress, her huge companion by her side. When she finally took a seat, Taker stood behind her a few moments watching.
"I'll be right back! Don't run off!" He murmured in her ear.
His breath tickled, and she felt the lightest touch of his lips against her ear. Suddenly, it was entirely too warm in here! He had actually been civil, and she hadn't expected this response to him. As she watched him walk away, she couldn't help but admire the way his big body moved.... couldn't help admiring the way his jeans hugged his butt! The dealer, FINALLY got her attention, and after glancing at her cards, put up her chips.
A short time later, as Taker returned, he found a drunk hitting on her! For some reason, this annoyed him a great deal! As he laid a posessive hand on her shoulder, he met the other man's eyes, with a glare of his own. The other man, backed down after getting a good look at the size of the lady's companion. After mumbling a half-assed apology, the drunk wandered off rather quickly!
Judy found it difficult to breathe properly, with him touching her! She felt as though she had been branded, and wouldn't have been a bit surprised to see his mark on her! He felt it too, from the heated look in his gaze!
"Come on, let's get out of here!" His husky voice sounded rough even to her, as she threw her cards in, then followed him from the casino! It seemed the most natural thing in the world when he took her hand in his!
As they walked down the hall to her room, she became nervous as it occurred to her, they were going to have sex! But at the door of the suite she shared with Kali, the DO NOT DISTURB! sign was hanging on the knob!
"Well! Seems like we're going to my room!" The look he gave her made her knees go weak, even as she followed him down the hall, back to the elevators!
~Chapter Four!~Kaliegh
Kali gazed over at Kane, still unable to believe what was happening or what was about to happen. Kane watched Kali as she walked over to the bed, nervously looking down at her hands as she sat down on the edge.
Kane closed the distance between them, kneeling down in front of her. Kali's breath caught in her throat when he hooked a finger under her chin, gently lifting her head until their eyes connected. Kane could feel her pulse pounding as he ran a long finger down her cheek, tracing her lips before continueing down her neck.
Kane stared deep into Kali's eyes, feeling himself drowning in the twin pools of dark blue. Very slowly he leaned forward, capturing her lips in a tender kiss.
Kali's head was spinning and she found it very hard to breath right. Kane's touch was intoxicating and from that moment on, she was completely his.
Sighing softly, Kali wrapped her arms around Kane's neck, pulling him closer to her. The kiss quickly deepened as desire claimed both of their senses. Kali opened her mouth in an invitation that Kane immediately accepted. She felt delicious shivers racing along her spine when his tongue slid past her lips and became entwined with her own.
Kane pulled back, wanting to see her eyes. She looked up at Kane, her half closed eyes dark with passion. A low moan escaped Kane's lips when he saw his own desires mirrored in her eyes.
Kane rose to his feet, joining Kali on the bed as he slowly eased her down on her back and began his sweet, torturing assault on her body.

Judy followed Taker into his room, the nervousness that she had felt on the way up had not abaited the slightest. Closing the door behind her, Judy stepped further into the room as Taker turned around to face her.
Their eyes met and held for several moments. Taker stepped forward, framing Judy's face with his large hands as he lowered his head until his lips found hers. Judy's lips were stiff against his, but slowly she began to relax and was returning the kiss with fire equal to Taker's.
Judy wrapped her arms around Taker's waist as he stepped back until he felt the edge of the bed against his legs and sat down, pulling Judy down on his lap facing him.
Judy broke the kiss and moved his hair back while her lips left a burning trail along his jaw down to his neck. She gently bit at his skin, moving further down to his chest when she heard Taker moan deep in his throat.
Judy slowly undid the buttons on his shirt and then slid it off over his shoulders. She swallowed hard, her eyes growing huge as she took in his broad shoulders and massive chest. Judy smiled to herself as she placed hot kisses on his chest, quite happy with the way the evening was progressing.
~Chapter Five!~Judy
Judy lay there in the darkened hotel room, next to a strange man, staring up toward the ceiling! As she listened to the steady, even breathing of the man beside her, she was over-come with so much guilt, Judy thought it would smother her! Carefully, so as not to disturb the sleeping man next to her, she eased out from under his arm, leaving the bed! The only light came from the pale moon light shining through the window. Glancing back, she saw his relaxed face half buried in the pillow, as he lay on his stomach with one arm and leg stretched out toward her side of the big bed.
Getting her cigarettes, she quietly went out on the private balcony, buck naked! The chilly night breeze felt good against her hot, bare skin. Lighting a cigarette, she looked down at the parking lot below! What the hell EVER possessed her to go to bed with a stranger? A man she just met? A man with the same outlook toward marriage as her soon-to-be ex-husband! She was TOTALLY disgusted with herself!
Tears filled her eyes as the feelings of revenge she had felt earlier, now merely made her feel cheap and used. Judy toyed with the idea of throwing herself off the balcony, effectively putting an end to the shit-load of guilt she was feeling! Never had she felt so miserable! "But with MY luck, I'd probably only break a leg!!" She thought in disgust!
"Wanna tell me about it?" His husky voice came from just behind her.
Judy very nearly jumped out of her skin, at the sound of his softly spoken words. Her eyes were wide with fright as she spun around to confront this unknown intruder. For all that she had slept with the man, he was still unknown!
"You startled me! I thought you were sleeping!" She chose to ignore his question.
Looking at her intently, Taker saw the tears glittering in her eyes and on her thick lashes. "Come on back inside. It's becoming chilly out here!" He took her hand, drawing her back into the spacious room. She was cold!
He drew her back over to the bed, pushed the covers back and pulled her down with him. After covering them both up, Taker held her till her trembling subsided. Having missed her body next to his, he had woke up. Now she was back in his bed and judging from what he had seen on the balcony, she was feeling guilty! That didn't sit well with the big man! Regret was not what he wanted his women to feel!
"Now, do you want to tell me about it?" He asked again, even as his huge hands caressed her body once more.
Judy felt her body responding to his touch,even as she tried to fight against the emotions he aroused. She knew all was lost when she felt his lips on her neck. He had found THAT spot! That most sensitive of spots just below and behind her ear. Taker had found her weakness quite by accident, and realizing it, took full advantage of it.
Moaning loudly, she turned toward him, giving herself up to the passions he aroused. Much later, Judy returned to her room, leaving Taker fast asleep. She pushed open the door leading into her bedroom, walked over to the bed, and fell across it, instantly fast asleep. She hadn't even taken the few minutes necessary to remove her clothes.
Early that afternoon, Judy finally emerged from her bedroom. Kali had been up and about for a couple of hours now, and was beginning to worry about her friend when that one's door finally opened.
"Damn girl! You look rough!" Kali said brightly, eyeing her friend critically. Laying the magazine down that she had been reading, Kali started to get up, but Judy motioned her to stay seated.
"I need coffee!" Judy said, her voice hoarse and raspy.
Her eyes were swollen and there were dark circles under them. Her long auburn hair was a tangled mess and Judy looked as thought she had slept in her clothes. Very carefully, she made her way over to the coffee pot and helped herself to a cup of warm coffee.
Sitting down rather gingerly across from Kali, Judy sipped at the awful stuff and grimaced at the bitter taste. Kali's amused look was met with one of pain and misery.
"Are you gonna make it?" Kali asked, trying hard not to laugh.
"I'll let you know after I take a shower!" Judy said, sipping from the cup once again.
Kali had never seen her friend look or sound so bad. Judy's raspy voice was almost unrecognizable! She reminded her of the autograph session and house show just a few hours away.
"And I want to know ALL of the disgustingly dirty details of what took place last night, to put you in this condition!" Kali couldn't help but laugh at the baleful stare Judy gave her.
Somewhat reluctantly, Judy got up and carefully made her way back to her room. Minutes later, Kali heard the shower running. A huge grin curved her lips as she thought about her friend. She only hoped she had as good a time as it appeared she had. Grinning wickedly, Kali was determined to find out all the details!
"Kali, I really don't think I care to go to this autograph session! You go on, but I REALLY don't care to go!" Judy kept throwing nervous glances toward the huge man in black sitting up there behind the long table. All of the WWF superstars were up there, but the only one she was aware of was Taker. She was still sore from their nocturnal activities. One would think she had been a virgin rather than a woman married for five years!
"OH, come on! You can go home with the bragging rights of having not only the man's autograph, but having the pleasure of meeting him as well. Not too many people WE know can do that!" Kali suspected she was embarrassed about facing him after spending the night with him, judging from her friends heightened color and nervousness.
Taker and Kane sat next to each other at the long table. They had met and had lunch just before this thing, and had joked back and forth during lunch, as to who looked the worst!
Kane suspected Taker had spent the night in the company of Kali's friend. He wore a completely sated look , and the lady in question seemed to be walking rather carefully, today. Kane had been watching for Kali and couldn't help but notice the way her friend was moving. He grinned wickedly, behind his mask as he lowered his head signing an autograph for a little boy.
Glancing over at the man in red, Taker knew Kane was grinning. "That'll be enough of that, friend!" Taker whispered, leaning toward the big man.
"What ever do you mean?" Kane drawled in reply, glancing over at the huge man in black.
Chuckling in reply, Taker turned back as the next fan approached. When he saw Judy reluctantly coming closer, desire for her flooded his massive body. He had been disappointed when he awoke to find her gone. The heated gaze he gave her, brought a delicate blush to her cheeks. She was not quite able to meet his hot eyes.
Taker waited for her to hand him something to sign, but when she didn't, he reached down beside him and withdrew a publicity shot. This he signed, then tearing off a piece of paper, he hastily scribbled a note on it before passing it to her.
Kali and Kane joked back and forth, Kane using the voice thingy. He too, passed a note to the woman before him. He wanted to meet her before the show tonight, then have dinner afterwards. Both men watched as the women left the platform.
The show had been absolutely fantastic. Both men had won their matches, and both were looking forward to the night ahead. They were having dinner with two of the most fascinating women it had been their pleasure to meet, in a long time.
The next morning, the women arrived back at their suite within minutes of each other. Each wore identical looks of satisfaction.
Kali and Kane had exchanged phone numbers and Kane had promised to call that evening. Kane had a flight to catch in just over an hour, and Judy and Kali would be checking out to go back home. After a few more minutes of rather passionate kissing, Kane pulled away rather reluctantly, groaning in sheer frustration. Grabbing his bags, Kane headed out the door as yet another knock sounded, reminding him he had to leave.
"I'll call tonight!" He said, his hot eyes devouring her. Then he pulled the door closed behind him.
On the drive back home, Kali noticed her friend's silence. Not wanting to pry, but concerned by the tight, drawn look about her friend's face, she asked if there was anything she could do.
"No! This is something I have to deal with on my own." Was all Judy would say!
"Well, I'm here if you want to tell me!" Kali replied.
After about an hour, Judy finally told Kali what was troubling her.
"I filed for divorce the day we left to come up here! I finally had enough of Dave cheating on me! I caught him with his latest woman." Tears fell unnoticed as the woman kept her eyes on the highway ahead.
"OH Judy! I'm sorry! But it's about time!" Kali said matter-of-factly.
"I know, but it's hard turning your back on the last five years of your life! I've known for the passed three years, that he was cheating on me! Then I met Taker! I had sex with him for Gawd's Sake! And me still married! He's married too! Which makes it worse! This makes me feel doubly guilty! Lord, Kali, what a mess!" Judy gripped the steering wheel tightly. Her knuckles were white from the grip she had.
"Honey, don't beat yourself up over this! So you had sex with another man! If you ask me, it's about time! Seems to me it did you some good! Don't imagine you been getting much at home from ol' Davey boy! Not with him diddling elsewhere! You said yourself you had filed for divorce, and you don't know for sure that Taker IS married. He never did come right out and say he was." At least Kali didn't think he had. Her attention had been on Kane, not on Taker!
Judy sniffled a few more times as she thought about what Kali said. She was right! Kali had always been her voice of reason in affairs of the heart!
"So, Kali! Are you going to see Kane again?" Judy asked, feeling better already!
The soft look and gentle smile was answer enough as Judy glance over at her friend. Kali had fallen for the big man!
"Yes, I think so! I like him, Judy! I like him A LOT!!!!" Her soft voice and dreamy, far away look, said it all.
Judy was glad for her friend. At least one of them deserved to be happy.
Later that evening, Kali was just finishing up her laundry when Kane called.
"Hey sugar! I miss you already!" She said playfully.
Kane grinned at her tone. "Glad to hear it! How was the drive home?"
"OK! Gotta question for you! Is Taker married?" She asked, her mind racing a mile a minute.
"No, why? You asking for your friend?" Kane guessed correctly. A mischievous smile tugged at the corners of his sensuous mouth.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I am. Did he, by chance, happen to say anything about her?" Kali asked.
Kane burst out laughing. "She's ALL he talked about! I think he wants to take care of her! You know, he fed her that line when we first met, cuz he thought she was hitting on him cuz of who he is. But yeah, he likes her... A LOT!" Kane grinned thinking about Taker's reaction if he knew they were playing matchmaker. Kane couldn't help but grin again. Taker WOULD BE PISSED!
"Kali this is what we need to do! That is, if your friend feels the same way about him!" And Kali couldn't help but grin as well, as she listened to the plan Kane outlined.
