Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust
How Britain deals with anti-Semitism and the Holocaust will determine whether such a thing can ever happen again.

As much of what we think is determined by what we see on television, in films, and on the news, Sandra Shevey has developed a module of study to examine negative Jewish stereotypes.

The module can run from 2-5 weeks, one a week, and consists of seminars and/or lectures which run approximately 3 hours.

An example of a seminar might be a viewing of the current film by Michael Radford, `The Merchant of Venice`, with Shevey comparing certain anti-Semitic scenes devised by Radford with the original text.

Sandra Shevey has been researching ethnics in film since the early 1970s and is currently writing a book about Suppression of Ethnic Minorities by the Major Hollywood Studios during the Golden Age.  Having originally been a journalist in the United States, she came to Britain in 1984 where she was commissioned to write biographies on Marilyn Monroe (`The Marilyn Scandal`) and `The Other Side of Lennon`.

She devised original women and minorities courses for American universities in the 1970s and in Autumn 2004 she was commissioned by Westminster City Council to lead a series of 4 walks emphasizing the contributions of diverse ethnic groups.

She currently runs her own walks company specializing in The Alfred Hitchcock London Locations Walk and London Street Market Walks.
