Walks are led by Sandra Shevey who originated the socio-historical overview of London markets when working in tandem with Westminster City Archives in 2004.
Old photos, prints and diagrams are used to assist in recreating pictures of the markets in times past; and where extant, fragments of the old markets are examined.
London markets are more than just places to buy fruit, veg, flowers and bric-a-brac. For years they`ve been hives of social activity and neighbourhood gathering places.
