HERE I AM

~NITA AND ODYSSEY~

"HERE I AM"!!!

September 26, 1940. The first child born to George and Jennie with the name of Nita, who is me.

I had a very good childhood, with a very loving family. My brother Jerry came along May 13, 1941 and later a sister Dolores, born August 15, 1953. She died Feb. 1981 in an auto accident.

I met Larry, and we were married July 4, 1959. We have 5 children; and they are all married now.

Debbie born March 4, 1960.

Steve born October 25, 1961.

Darlene born July 22, 1963.

Doreen born October 22, 1966.

Donna born April 3, 1970.

I am so lucky to have my 5 wonderful children; they have given me a lot of pleasure.

They are very good to me!

I grew up in a small town along the beach in N.J. I got my first horse at the age of 10.

I have had horses and loved them ever since.

I have many interests and hobbies.

Besides horses I like, Painting with acrlic, mostly landscapes and horses, Doing all types of crafts, Native Americans, country music, Mickey Mouse, angels, dolls, and of course Santa Clause, Elvis, for his songs and James Dean (the movie actor) for his acting and good looks!

I enjoy acrylic painting, mostly landscapes and horses. I dabble in arts and crafts.

Pink is my favorite color. All shades!

"A letter received from our grandson Nathan to share"

"A DEDICATION TO MY GRANDPARENTS"

Starting out with my Grandfather, Larry Zickler: He is a big man, with a big loving heart. He is always on the road, driving to make money to keep the farm, but when he is home he helps me, by giving me ideas or helping me figure out how to use my ideas to fix or make things. What I love the most is his stories he tells me; whether to teach a lesson or to just sit down and listen to what he has to say, either helping me or just telling stories "I LOVE MY GRANDPA DEARLY"

My grandmother, Nita Zickler: she is loving to all, relatives or just friends. She cares for all or us! My Grandma (I call gram) has always been there for me. She takes time, to help me when I need it. She takes time to haul me and my horse to rodeo , when ever I have one. My Grandmother is a very special person to me, because she is always been there for me, I hope that when I am 18, I can move in with her to take care of her, because of all the care she has given me.

Grandmother and Grandfather, I love them both dearly and hope one day I can care for them, just as they have me.

Written by our grandson, Nathan Goodwin, February 19, 2000, in his own words. He also dedicated the song "THE PERFECT FAN" by the Backstreet Boys to me.

THE Twenty Third Psalm; is my favorite verse, in the Bible.

My favorite poem:

I WOULD RATHER HAVE A ROSE FROM A GARDEN OF A FRIEND THAN TO HAVE THE CHOICEST FLOWERS WHEN MY STAY ON EARTH MUST END.

I WOULD RATHER HAVE ONE SINGLE WORD OF KINDNESS SAID TO ME THAN FLATTERY AROUND MY GRAVE WHEN LIFE HAS CEASED TO BE.

SO BRING TO ME ONE FLOWER, BE IT PINK OR WHITE OR RED

FOR I'D RATHER HAVE ONE BLOOM TODAY THAN A TRUCK LOAD WHEN I'M DEAD.
