-One Expensive Haircut!! November 25th, 2000

Shania's known well for her work with Kids Cafe and Second Harvest and her contributions haven't gone unrecognized by the organization. Shania has her own page at Second Harvest's web site describing some of her charity work with Second Harvest. Starting with donating all of the proceeds from the song "God Bless The Child" to auctioning off 20 premier-seat tickets at each of her 1998-99 tour stops, raising over $250,000 for Kids Cafe.

But a lot of Shania's personal contributions go unrecognized like the time she offered up a challenge with a crew member during her world tour. Shania offered to donate $1,000 for every inch he agreed to have cut off his hair. It turned out to be the most expensive haircut of all time, costing Shania $12,000. $12,000 translates into 420,000 pounds of food that can be distributed to hungry Americans. In a world in which bad news dominates other worthy stories, it's nice to spread the word on stories like this.

-Shania Denies Rumors!! October 14th, 2000

A possible end to a rumor that has been going around the internet and airwaves on country radio came at the CMA backstage interviews. When asked if she was building a new home in Wisconsin Shania reportedly flat out denied that report. The rumor started on the internet about a month ago and was even confirmed by several radio stations so we'll just have to see if there was anything to it or not.

The new rumors out there say that Shania has bought a cottage in the Huntsville Ontario area of her native Canada. The rumors should be taken for just what they are, rumors. If you live in that area of Canada don't go out looking for Shania just yet!

-Shania Speaks About New Album!! October 14th, 2000

During the post-CMA interviews a little insight into Shania's next album was gained as Shania spoke about it's progress. Shania who stated she is currently in the songwriting stage of the new album had this to say about the direction the new album will take: "At this stage, we are really just being very creative. We're not giving the music any direction right now. We're just creating music. I think it's very important for people to understand that. I think any songwriters aren't thinking, 'This song is going...' I just think it's really premature to make that decision.

"Right now, we're still writing. And when you're writing, you're thinking concepts, you're thinking of concepts, you're thinking of lyrics. You're not thinking about formats, style, really, and sound so much. So it's too early to tell what direction it's going to take."

The awards were in recognition of the "Most Played Songs of the Year" in which "Come On Over," "Man! I Feel Like A Woman," "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "You've Got A Way" won. The reason Shania didn't receive any recognition in the ASCAP Awards is because she is a BMI registered songwriter.

Not only did she not win any of the awards she was nominated for but just the mention of her name brought boo's from the crowd as it was announced during the naming of the nominees for several awards. One can only assume the lack of respect shown to Shania is in response to her not showing up for the awards.

The eyeshadows I use most often lately are the "wet/dry shadow" Sandstorm and Coffee Bean."

Goals: "I am living in an area of Switzerland where French is the primary language. Living here, I've decided that I want and need to be able to communicate in it. I am in the process of learning French and hoping that I'll be able to hold a conversation in it before the year is out."

"I think they wrote it 'specially for me, because the lyrics of the song, if you really listen ... they're more of what I can relate to, 'cause they're kind of young lyrics, I think. I don't think Shania would probably sing some of the words that I'm saying."
