My ancestors are mostly of British Isles decent with some scandanavian and German.  I have made much progress over the years tracing the various lines and I am intrigued by their lives.  It's easy to romanticize the events and personalitites of your ancestors,.... making them into something they were or were not.  So far.. my ancestors have been simple people living simple lives.  My research has turned up events that must have brought joy and happiness as well as sorrow and pain to ordianry people.  The kind of people who contributed so much to making America the great country that it is.
