Kevin Molt: Banjo

I first started on the fiddle at the age of 10. The woman who gave me lessons tried to teach me classical music. I stood that for about a month, and decided that wasn't in my genes. I then started playing the mandolin and stayed with that for about a year. I played a little rhythm with Gordon Terry, Red Taylor, and the Terry boys one year in Moulton AL. I was just a kid then, but thought I was in the big times. Then I decided to try the banjo. I looked up a guy named Steve Smiley to give me lessons, after a few years he told me I needed to move on. I have now enjoyed playing the banjo for about 20 years. After knowing all the band members for several years, we have formed the Strings of Bluegrass.
