**********

Two of my favourites by the poet Javan...his words move my heart!

There was a time
When my mind had its Freedom
To wander aimlessly through the days
To travel to distant Lands
Or soar among the clouds
And to hold imaginary Lovers
Through the night
But now things have changed
And it seems my mind has been tethered
And can never get too far
From thoughts of you

You have come into my life
Through a door I was afraid
Would never be open again
For many have slammed it on their way out
So please feel free
To stay as long as you like
But should the time come
That you must leave
Please, close the door gently
As you go

I speak
Because I know my needs
I speak with hesitation
Because I know not yours
My Words
Come from my life's experiences
Your understanding
Comes from yours
Because of this
What I say
And what you hear
May not be the same
So if you will listen carefully
But not with you ears
To what I say
But not with my tongue
Maybe somehow
We can communicate

**********

I am an idea
Conceived in the mind of the Universe
And interpreted in the minds
of the individuals I meet
Within myself I am constant
Yet I am as ever changing
as the people who interpret me
I can control my actions
But I can not control their thoughts
Therefore, I must do what I think right
And let others-
Think what they will

**********

Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough
To hold you in my arms
Rather than just in my mind
Maybe someday I'll trade in empty dreams
For the thrill of one night's memories
And the cold of the world
Will be shattered by your warmth

**********

There are so many words
Yet there are no words
For when I look into your eyes
No words need to be spoken
And the warmth in your smile
Is a statement in itself
And how could I ever try to explain
The trembling in my body
When I touch your face
There are no words to explain an emotion
So I open to you my mind
That you may walk
Among my Dreams and Memories
Then...and only then
You might understand my silence

**********

Whether it was chance
Or that thing called fate
That brought you to me
I really can't say
And I don't believe
It really matters
For I have been lucky enough
To have the opportunity to hold you
Not just in my arms
But also in my heart
And should the winds of time
Blow hard enough
To take you from my arms
You can rest assured
They will never
Take you from my heart

**********

Touch gently the Life
Of your fellow man
For the human heart
Shapes as easily
As clay upon
The potter's wheel

**********

One day I said to God--
I'm going to search
For the meaning to my existence
I'm going to find the talent within me
Then develop it to the best of my ability
And I'm going to make the most of this Life
That I have been given
And I'm going to do this
Without infringing upon anyone else's
Opportunity to do the same
And God replied
'I couldn't ask for anything more'

**********

I'm not very good
At this Game called Life
For I've not learned to see children crying
Without feeling pain
For I've not learned to watch animals destroyed
Without wondering why
For I've not yet met a king or a celebrity
That I would bow down to
Or a man so insignificant
That I would use for a stepping-stone
For I've not learned to be a 'yes man'
To narrow minded bosses
Who quote rules without reason
And I've not learned to manipulate
The feelings of others
To be used for my own advantages
Then cast aside as I see fit
No, I'm not very good
At this Game called Life
And if everything goes well
Maybe I never will be

**********

From time to time
Two paths will cross
Then merge together
To appear to be one
And as such will travel
Many miles
But so often
The fortunes of the world
Make it necessary
For them to separate
In order to reach
Their own destinations

**********

We are born into this World
Like a blank canvas
And each person that crosses our path
Takes up the brush
And makes his mark
Upon our surface
So it is that we develop
But we must realize there comes a day
That we must take up the brush
And finish the work
For only we can determine
If we are to be
Just another painting
Or a Masterpiece

**********

Nature gives us our needs
Society gives us our restrictions

**********

Where will I go
When there's no where to go
But away from you
What will I say
When everythings been said
But we're through
What lies ahead
When it all lies behind
But the memories
Will I have the strength
To wipe the tear from my eye
To give one last hug
And whisper 'goodbye'

**********

I often wonder
If I am the man
That I would be
If I were a boy
Dreaming of the man
That I would be

**********

Just how high
Can the Human Heart rise
In a World so full of uncaring eyes
Where Animals suffer and Children die
And people fight Wars without knowing why
Where alcohol and drugs cause wasted lives
And shelters are full of unwed mothers and battered wives
But should the day come that man learns to care
And no longer wants just to take but also to share
And he learns that everything has a right to live
And that Life is something he can take but can not give
When he learns to approach Life with a Heart full of Love
For everything on Earth and in the Heavens above
When he learns to do these things
He will have opened the door
To knowing just how high
The Human Heart can soar
