Friend

Drifting into my life one day, he came.
Bringing a trusting smile, a gleeful eye, and a warm hello.
Minute by minute, hour by hour and day by day a closeness grew.
Slowly at first, then with ever gaining and steady speed.
How did he know when clouds were throwing their dark shadows upon my spirit, I know not.
But then he also saw the sunshine in my eyes and heard the songs that my heart sang.
We have talked of many things, families, dreams, how comes and what ifs, even resolved the worlds' problems.
He listens to my problems and gives me hope.
Always there with an encouragement and a hug if need be.
He is my advisor and my sounding board, makes me question my thoughts and lets me find my own answers.
He is always there to be my buddy, comrade, and confidante.
He brings much joy to my life and peace to my inner being.
I would grant his every wish if I had the power to do so, and always wish him happiness and the best of life.
True friends are blessed gifts from the creator.
We never know when one will be sent to us.
Cherish them when they are recieved and let them know you love them.
For they are truly treasures to hold to your heart.
I am a very blessed person and he is and always will be my friend.
