Dragons, Dragons, Dragons

Fairy tails and Fantasy stories and Walt Disney movies has been a favorite of mine. And I love the unique works of 'Hans Christen Anderson'.

Well I must admit, everyone in the family love's Fantasy. My youngest son, Chris, just started a company called Dragon's Domain. My daughter,Kim, who is quite a crafter herself, works at Craft Cottage. But she has taken time off to bring the newest one into the family. His name is Jeremiah. WoW! It's great to be a grandma. My oldest son, Kevin has been my right hand man when it comes to shows. And he also makes a good critic. My husband, Terry, has always encouraged me and supported me.

Here we have 'Kir' He is a gentle dragon. He is the keeper of the crystal orb.

When I am doing a Dragon piece I never know just how I want him to be. One of my first was sold so fast I didn't get a picture of him. He was multicolored with glitter paints and was made of felt and SS. He kind of reminded me of a puppy in a window just waiting for a home.

' The Gentle Giant ' Lifted up between the dawn upon the dawn upon the Horizon. Gently carried from harm above the Clouds. Gripping tightly to my Hero, wind does pass my weary brow. Does prosperity seek to quiet all that is past this way in time. Shall the hidden be unveiled, buy toasting he who drinks the wine. He does write the wrong of others, with the truth upon his lips. Could prosperity be the scales upon my hero's hips. You can travel to your kingdom in a dream that comes by night or hold tight the gentle giant as he lifts you into flight. Beg I ask you who shall notice when their eyes do face the ground, seeking gold and jewels of color hearing nothing not a sound.

This is

'Blaze'

Available

Large dragons from head to the end of their tail are 3 feet.

Kir's and Blaze's head, hand and feet are made with SS. His body is wire and wood frame with sculpted batting. Than I cut each leather piece to finish his scales. You can move his neck to turn his head. And you also can move his tail to pose. His arms move a little.

Listening only to their voices, saddens me to hear their cries. For they seek such empty treasures, never looking to the skies. Just to sour above the tree line , taking shelter in a lair. He is wise the soul of Legend and he keeps me in his care. For the treasure worth the finding, filling up each empty space, is the truth I feel within my heart and see upon his face. It is joy to know what sorrow brings, for in knowing you can share. Taking comfort in the giving, never leaves you in despair. For all we have is just each other and together life is bright. Just hold on and he will take you, This Gentle Giant Into Flight.

This is a side view of

'Kir'

He is made of sculpted batting. Than I used a spray glue, several cans. Than layers and layers and layers of paint. His eyes are large clear marbles.

I have made several dragon heads for those who could not afford the whole thing.

This Noble Dragon is very, very old. The knight that slain him was proud to bring back his head for King Anthony. When the castle in later years had to be sold , a peddler was able to get in and bring it back with him to the states. Then, a dear friend of ours who happen to see it as they removed it from the ship managed to acquire it for my galley. Who ever said there were no Dragons needs to see this one in person.

' The Old Green Dragon '.
