In His Presence
It was as any other day
the sun shining and children were at play
while in the town square
a crowd begin to gather
and you heard the sound of the horses shoes clatter
many were gathering by the center of town
to catch a glimpse of Christ in his gown
to see the son as they marched him down the street
to the top of calvary for his father to meet
a simple carpenter nothing less
a loving man who had done his best
to free all souls from evils hands
that was the task of this mortal man
to heal the sick and give hope to the poor
and to make room in his heart for thousands more
but the fear of Christianity spread over the land
and the Romans there had no holy plans
The power of might was to be shown that day
and what better style than to crucify a rabbi for play
but even then while hanging on that old rugged cross
this gentle man prayed for their loss
and asked his Father in the heavens above
forgive them Lord and shower them with love
my time here is over one heard him say
I go to my Father on this special day
and as he ascended to heaven into the arms of peace
the heavens opened it's doors and thunder released
and God's own tears washed the blood away
from atop calvary hill on that tragic day
from that time forth and forever more
pray for love and don't choose war
be kind to your neighbors and all fellow men
for in my Fathers mansion your rewards lie within
weep not for pain that I have gone through
for the pain I suffered,I did it for you
