The Fall

Soft and smooth, as I remember, The years gave way to the rough. Working hard, turning to cinder, I never thought it'd be so tough. Living my life, as best I can. But feeling like I'm just not there. Searching hard..for the man Who can help me escape the fare. Paying my dues, and the debts I owe, Trying to smile but lying to friends. I'm feeling more pain than you'll ever know, And all of this stress will be my end. Falling down, and I can't stand up-- I'm being slashed as we speak. Yet they all laugh and say, "Wassup?" As the darkness into my soul creeps.
