Oil painting is one of the most traditional techniques. When I paint with oils, I feel connected to the old masters, their way of thinking and painting; it is like traveling in Time. Even though it is a very old medium, numerous effects can be created in it to conceive contemporary paintings, it is like music: you have the same few notes, but there is a vast variety of different approaches to composition. I like working in oil, this medium is a kind of link through styles, epochs, thoughts in art. I believe it is possible to develop a creative artistic statement in any medium or style, though. However, the main criterion in all you do, should be beauty. I do not mean a 'pretty' picture, but a true beauty which will not necessarily come from happiness, but through sufferings and difficult times. Some call it truth, some call it beauty, but it will shine through your work. This is true art ... perhaps there is truth in the ancient conception of art as a reflection of heaven, which is beauty.

Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old, as Franz Kafka wrote.

And Manet once said, A painter can say all he wants to with fruit or flowers or even clouds.
