Memoirs

1. A family story that I've told many of times regards one of my family barbeques. The theme of this story is the love we share within the family. It was one beautiful Saturday and my family was having a barbeque with all of our relatives invited. My house has a pool so mostly my cousins were swimming. During the late afternoon one of my cousins started throwing my other cousins and myself into the pool. At one point my cousin was trying to throw my brother-in-law in the pool but he held on to something to resist them. It finally took three of my cousins to throw him in the pool but that's not the funny part. When they finally threw him in the pool my mom passes by and nonchalanty pushes him in the pool and keeps walking. The rest of the family was dying laughing. But I don't know which was funnier: the fact that he got pushed in by a woman or that he was fully dressed he was pushed in the pool. Everything of his was wet, including his paycheck and beeper.

I have all sorts of weird stories to share. Some are funny and others are sad. For example, just recently we had to put one of my dogs to sleep. I know we didn't have for that long but the family was so attached to the dog, that it broke all our hearts. Before that, our beloved puppy Charlie Brown was hit by a truck. But luckily he survived. I was there to witness the whole thing. I'm the type that is very sensitive so I immediately started crying. It was a horrible experience for me and the dog but I'm just happy that he came out of it alive. I can't imagine living in a household without at least one pet. Yes, sometimes they drive me crazy but my pets just make my day more interesting.
I think that's enough with the animal stories for me. I want to take a look back to my younger days. I remember my parents would throw barbeques every weekend in the summer time. I was about maybe 9 or 10 years old. My uncles and aunts and my cousins would come either on Saturday or Sunday to party. This annual ritual continued 'til about two years ago. Now it's just my favorite uncle Tony that comes over almost every weekend. He is so much fun to be around. I remember one summer he invited me to go to Florida with him and his kids. I would have to say that that was my first out of state trip. I had so much fun in Florida that I went back three years later. I love my uncle Tony to death.
