LIVELY SPIRIT
My life seemed to be in such turmoil.
A hurricane that would not stop.
Not knowing where to go or what to do,
I hid from the physical people around me
And spent my time online with people that knew me best
My regular friends and I sat and visited
And I watched new faces come in and leave
I watched other new faces meet new partners
And still I sat there all alone
Trying to hide my loneliness
Trying to convince myself that it was okay to be alone
But my heart wanting a deep connection with someone to fill the void
I saw you come in and saw the lively spirit within you
Knowing that I would like to be your friend
I took that bold step of emailing you
And today ... that was the best thing that I could have done
Today ~ my life is at peace
Feeling inner contentment and sureness
Knowing the direction I want to head
I no longer hide but want to shout to the world
That this someone that I have found to be my soulmate
Will some day hold my hand in theirs
Your lively spirit has made my soul feel like it is going to burst
Giving me the life again to move ahead
Looking forward to the journeys and adventures that we will share
