Every children have used a colored pencil at least once. Because colored pencil is fun and easy, there is not much to be taught about how to use them. Working with colored pencil gives me the kind of control I need on my portraits. The coloring process is simple, I build up the intensity of the colors by layering and duplicating the hues of the subject. Since the variety of colors available with colored pencils is so wide, I can usually find the exact shade I need. With colored pencil one can draw anything, from interesting shapes and vivid colors to realistic portraits to abstract art.
