About Us

Thank you for visiting our web site. It really does mean a lot to us that someone recognizes it, because we are new to creating web pages. My name is Myque. I am a teenager like all of my friends in the Whitney Young Writer's CLub. So what you see on this page will basically be poetry, lyrics, prose, and thoughts from the teenage mind. We all live in Chicago, the city in the heart of America. So you can say that we represent a nice chunk of American teenage life.

Me personally, ever since I was a young boy I enjoyed reading and writing poetry. It/s been, kind of, my hobby. It really never mattered what I wrote about, I just picked up a pen and some paper and wrote whatever was on my mind. I could write about life, love, happiness, music, death, nature, dreams, or whatever came to mind. Sometimes the pieces would come out to be a poem, or sometimes a song, or a even rap. That can explain all of us here in the Whitney M. Young Writer's Club, teens inspired by almost anything, able to convert life's experiences into wordsin some pretty amazing ways. We all have different styles in writing our pieces. That's what makes this Club so unique, the different voices it has. You can say it makes us feel colorful!

I've always loved to work with computers and to learn how to do something new with it. That is how I ended up making this web page for the club, just trying something new. I couldn't just create a plain you-read-me-and- I'll-tell-you-a-story type of page, because it would have been too boring. So I got together with my "family" and we decided to do what manny of us always wanted to do, run a poetry club. We wanted to make a page where the web browsers would become our audience. We would present them with a piece or two of our own and then open the floor up to the public (hence the title "The Open "Myque"). Hopefully our dreams can come true, and this web page will be successful. But this can only happen with your help. If you're not shy, give our night club a try.

Rules To The Club

I'm not about to try to make this seem like a school or anything. It would be a waist of time, seeing how most people will do what they want anyway. But, I do ask that if you're going to step on to our stage to please follow these simple rules so that this web site will not be taken off. Remember, We're only renting this building, not owning.

Warnings :

These are some little things that you poets should keep in mind . . .

How the Club Works :

Okay, this is how you play the game . . .

That's just about it. The last thing to remember would be to just have fun, stir up a nice big cup of joe or something and enjoy the show, enjoy the "myque" experience!!!
