down- plucked feathers of duck and geese which causes considerable pain, also can be a slaughter byproduct

elastin- obtained from neck ligamnts or aorta of cows, found in cosmetics

gelatin- (protein from bones, hooves, horns, skin), found in marshmallows, pill capsules, and all brands of film

honey- produced by bees and needed by them for proper nutrition (bee farmers substitute sugar water causing the bees malnutrition and starvation)

ivory- tusk of elephants

keratin- found in shampoos, can be opained from human hair

lactic acid- can be derived from meat, dairy, or plants'

lactose- milk sugar

lanolin- from wool fat, found in cosmetics and creams

lard- animal fat, found in food

leather- skin of an animal, provides much needed revenue to meat industry, chemicals used in leather are toxic to the environment

lecithen- in foods' can be from eggs or soy

musk oil- painfully obtained from musk deer, beavers, civet cats and otter genitals

pate- liver of birds

placenta womb lining, found in cosmetics

Premarin- female hormone therapy, preganant mare urine, taken from factory farmed horses, there are synthetic alternatives

propolis- collected by bees, needed for their survival

rennet, rennin- from calf stomachs, found in many cheeses

silk- silkworms are boiled or baked alive (the initial heat causes them to create silk)

sperm oil- slaughter product of the sperm whale

stearic acid- found in shampoos, creams, and lotions. etc; can be vegetable derived

sugar, refined- charred animal bones are often used as a dicoloring agent' companies that use bone chare" Domino, Savannah Foods, California and Hawaiian Sugar; sugar not discolored with bone char: beet sugar (labeled "granulated sugar" or "fine granular sugar"), turbinado sugar (from any company); Jack Frost Sugar, Florida Crystal, C&H's Washed Raw Sugar
