April 4, 2003 - "He's hot, but he doesn't shut up long enough to be sexy.."

What a day, what a day. I was trying to sleep at 1:30am and so I borrowed this trashy book from Selina called Slightly Single by Wendy Markham since I've already read my trashy books about 5 billion times, and it was supposed to put me to sleep but I ended up reading it all the way through until 5am. Golly. Dorkus am I. I was originally supposed to have my FIRST in-car driving session today! was mondo excited, so ex-sited i almost 'exited' my body. yup. my instructor called at 9am to say that if I didn't want to go, it was fine due to the snow and horrible conditions. Thank God. (Thank you Parsons). So I went back to sleep, woke up at 11am to a phone call from Marianne who, once again, berated me for getting her addicted on lime chips as she was in Dominion at that very moment buying two bags. Good thing you stocked up hon - Selina tried to buy two bags from the grocery 'hole' across the street and apparently she almost snatched the last bag from under this guy's nose. I love my assertive friends..... it DOES seem like everyone is picking on me though. Woe is me. My sis emailed me and she said that after reading this, I had mentioned Pringles, which made her go and buy a tin and she's been eating them non-stop. She blames it all on me. Why stop there? Why not blame the El Nino effect on me too?? It's like what I told Selina today when she was going off at me for not wearing more clothing since it was supposedly cold. She said she'd have to wear 6 layers because of the weather, and I said, "Why stop at six when you can wear 7?" and Parsons chimes in, "Why stop at 7 when you can wear 8?" To which she responded, "Alright, everybody, shuttup."

Selina's cousin Maira had slept over and so I made pancakes for her, Selina, and Selina's brother Buzzi - except in my excitement, I forgot to put butter into the mixture. My solution: slather margarine on top of the cooked pancakes. Very addictive when cold.

PARSONS CAME OVER! I'm using this site as an ego boost for him. I love this boy, I had an hour free yesterday and so just as I was about to call him to see if he wanted to hang out, he called me! He was selling daffodils at Rotman for the Canadian Cancer Society and so I went and picked up two bunches. I gave one to Melly, and then went back to his room since he gave me his keys. I made his bed, and folded his clothes (except for boxers that were lying on the floor... thus, assumed to have already been worn), and proceeded to change his computer screen background, exchange the contents of two drawers around and left a bunch of daffodils. Unfortunately, i had to go to class then, otherwise his bed would have shifted too. That, my dear, is revenge on behalf of Melly - whose dresser drawers were changed around when she was making chicken nuggets for him!! He calls me last night at 11pm and was like, "what the hell did you do to my drawers? i'm so confused!!" we sorted that out and proceeded to talk about our complete and total world domination plan... which consisted of stealing a lot of photo equipment from the hart house darkroom and transferring it to the st.hilda's darkroom. oh yes, and we also talked about sharing a box of photo paper. life is good.

So he came over today and him, Selina and I went grocery shopping. Selina helped this lady on the street who was having difficulty walking cuz of all the YUCKY slush. So if Parsons tries to pass it off as him helping an old lady, just say, "HA! you're lying - she wasn't old!!!" Joy came over (YAY!!), then Parsons left, Joy left, and Selina's mom came over and we cooked for her! we made bruschetta, chicken parmigiana and a chocolate cake. YUM. halfway through trying to bread the chicken, I realized i was a dimwit and forgot to buy breadcrumbs. Anyways, all was saved and it was a fantastic meal. I love Selina's mom - when Buzzi played all of this death metal stuff on my computer, she comes in and was like, "Shar, you don't have to listen to that cuz of Buzzi, turn that shit off!" She is indeed a real gem. Everything she ate that we'd made was 'divine'...

Marianne just messaged me to say that she had finished one bag of tostitos. Hon, you gotta deal with this by not feeling guilty - that's the first step to acceptance of this new stage in your life. And besides, they're corn chips and corn has fibre. My parents called me and they've finally figured out how to use Speakerphone. Oh yeah, side note, REALLY gorgeous guy yesterday at Eatons Centre - wow. He was even eating and he was still gorgeous. Anyway, my parental units called and were telling me about SARS in Hong Kong. Apparently people are saying that the disease is being transmitted by animals!! Craziness, I tell you. I'm still mad at the Chinese government for having covered it up. They have to get off their high horses and realize that if they want to govern and claim responsibility for such a territory as Hong Kong - a world city and major hub to all of Asia and the rest of the world, then they have to act in the best interest of Hong Kong and the rest of the world. They are like children, trying to cover up everything just because of pride - it's so annoying! Only NOW are they cooperating with the WHO and that's ridiculous. There were apparently so many more deaths going back to even Sept and Oct that they covered up by claiming they died of other consequences. Man. Of course, I'll probably never be allowed back into China after all of this talk!

ENYA man... that's what it's all about. Book of Days. heehee... I love the internet. Honestly. Parsons put me on auto-receive for icq since I was going to send him pictures of everyone, and I sent this too:

Ahhh, Abercrombie and Fitch. What would I do without you?

And just for an added bonus....

Ahh, so he'll never let me have his room keys or auto-receive files from me on icq again but BOY IT WAS WORTH IT!

Quote of the year: WHY DO WE MESS UP EXAMS?
A year has 365 days for you to study. After taking away 52 Sundays, there are only 313 days left. There are 50 days in the summer that is way too hot to work so there are only 263 days left. We sleep 8 hours a day, in a year, that counts up to 122 days so now we're left with 141 days. If we fooled around for only 1 hour a day, 15 days are gone, so we are left with 126 days. We spend 2 hours eating each day, 30 days are used in this way in the year, and we are left with 96 days in our year.We spend 1 hour a day speaking to friends and family, that takes away 15 days more and we are left with 81 days. Exams and tests take up at least 35 days in your year; hence you are only left with 46 days.Taking off approximately 40 days of holidays, you are only left with 6 days.Say you are sick for a minimum of 3 days, you're left with 3 days in the year to study! Let's say you only go out for 2 days! You are left with 1 day! But that 1 day is your birthday... so...
Good luck to everyone on your exams. (Thx Renee)
