The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Lubo's latest work has been done after the original
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse black and white drawing (1498)
by the German artist Albrecht Durer.
Lubo reproduced it as a bas-relief using a specific woodcarving technique on solid walnut wood.
The work took fourteen months to finish.
As he was working on it,
Lubomir particularly concentrated on a female image at the bottom
of the composition and decided to carve his mother’s face on the original figure.
Size: height 115 cm (45"), width 85 cm (34"), thickness 13 cm (5")
