The 2005 Cristeros’ Summer Formation Camp
Ala Farms, Legazpi, Albay

     25 young men joined and braved the tight camp schedule and activities. This year's camp was a different camp as it was designed as a "formation camp" with formation programs for both body and soul.

     The day was begun with the morning exercises led by the indefatigable Col. Etis, who was also our Prefect of Discipline in our camp in '99 at Masbate. It was followed by the collective Morning Prayers and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.




     After breakfast, there were competitive games; after which, a conference was given by the camp chaplain or one of the coordinators. This year, the participants came from different backgrounds and places: most of them are from Tanay, others are from traditional catholic families, others are new to tradition and others still are from the Novus Ordo!




     The conferences included the following: Man's Foundation and First Principles; The Two Standards; The Powers of the Soul; Virtues Against Vices; The Old Cristiada of Mexico; The Cristeros; Temperaments-How to Handle Them. This year's camp chaplain was Fr. Emerson Salvador. The day was ended with a bonfire; there was a day of presentation skits by each of the four groups.




     There was an excursion to a beach resort which everybody enjoyed a lot. Then, there was a visitation to a local jail (a prison) where we visited and gave Rosaries to the prisoners as an act of Charity and Corporal Work of Mercy. Finally, at the end of the camp, we had a short pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Penafrancia, a renowned Marian Shrine in the Philippines. We walked some 6.11 kms from the city's entry point to the Cathedral of Our Lady.

Sunday: May 22, 2004 (Feast of the Most Holy Trinity)

General Assembly for Old and New Members, Collaborators and Quasi-members The General Assembly this year will be held on May 22, 2004 at Our Lady of Victories Catholic School after the 9:00 am Sung Mass. Attendees include the regular and inactive members, the quasi-members (male friends and benefactors, honorary members) and the collaborators (female friends and collaborators). N.B. Attendance is by invitation only.

PRESS RELEASE:

THE SOCIETY OF ST. PIUS X ON THE NEW POPE

     In the name of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X, His Excellency Bishop Fellay, Superior General, welcomes the accession of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger to the Sovereign Pontificate. He sees there a gleam of hope that we may find a way out of the profound crisis which is shaking the Catholic Church, of which some aspects have been spoken of by the former Head for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and quite recently so in his preaching on the occasion of the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday.

     His Excellency Bishop Fellay implores Our Lord Jesus Christ, Head of the Mystical Body, that the two-thousand-year-old Tradition of the Church, forgotten and mistreated during the last forty years, may regain its place during this Pontificate, and that the Traditional Holy Mass may be re-established in all its rights, without restrictions.

     Finally, the Superior General assures the Successor of Peter, Benedict XVI, of his prayers and those of all the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X for the considerable task which awaits him in order to restore all things in Christ.
