Can I Live A Holy Life?

1) Rejoice:

You belong to Him.

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My Hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of My Father's Hand. I and the Father are one."
John 10:28-30

2) Cooperate:

Keep putting those sinful desires to death.

"The death He (Christ Jesus) died, He died to sin once and for all; but the life He lives He lives to God. In the same way, count yourself dead to sin but alive in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires..........For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace."
Romans 6:11,12 & 14

3) Remember:

Provision has been made for sin.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9

4) Relax:

Becoming comes from being. Let God, who is alive in you, be at work in you as you move closer to Him.

"Do not be conformed any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- His good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12:2
"And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord..............."
2 Corinthians 3:18

Sin can be prevented and avoided in our pursuit of holiness. God has provided help by........

* His Word with instruction and guidance.

Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourself. Do what it says!
James 1: 21&22

* The interceding, shepherding ministry of Jesus.

..............But if anyone does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense -- Christ Jesus, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but for the sins of the whole world.

( Not a license to sin but a hope for redemption when we do stumble.)

* The enabling power of the Holy Spirit.

"...............The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He (God) who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints (you and me) in accordance with God's will.
Romans 8: 26&27

Dear friend, always remember............. The Bible says...........NO temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
