Engagement Story

How we met

Our meeting broke all the relationship "rules". I was actually seeing one of his friends (Nes) at the time. My friend Shanelle, and another old associate, Raquel, went down to Baltimore to visit Nes (I wasn't about to travel down there by myself, not knowing anyone else there). Some of my friends from Washington D.C. came up to see me. That Saturday night, me and my 7 friends went over to Nes' friends house (can you guess whose house it was?). I could feel the flirting going on all night, but since I was there to see Nes, it wouldn't have looked good if I tried to "talk" to Evans. The next morning while eating breakfast with my two travelmates, we devised a plan to get Evans' phone number.

Here's the plan:

Here's how it really went:

Engagement Story

Evans made a special trip up from Baltimore to spend time with me on my birthday, December 23. We went out to eat dinner at a restaurant on City Island called Sammy's. On our way there, Evans gave me a birthday present and my Christmas present. My birthday present wasn't wrapped, but it was in a lovely heart-shaped box. I opened it and there was a beautiful diamond heart-shaped pendant on a chain. My Christmas present, though was wrapped! He told me that I could open it now or wait two days and open it on Christmas. He knew that I would be more than anxious to open it. I did wait until we got to the restaurant to open it. While waiting for our meal, I asked about a million times if it was okay if I opened the present early. Finally, after 20 minutes, I opened the box. Inside this box, was a gorgeous ring. I looked at Evans, like, this isn't what I think it is? Reading my mind, he said, you know what that is, right? DUH!! I thought I would faint. There was no indication that this was coming. But I'm so glad that it did.
