The Game

We play this game, you and I,
Where they are to blame, it's them who lie,
We use words that distort and twist,
Reality, so to be blurred, and truth to be missed,
Whatever happened to honesty and trust,
Where we relied on you and me, togetherness a must,
Now all that's left is this diverged road,
No more promises kept, no more chivalry code,
Was it like this, all along,
Was I in some blinding bliss, some soothing song?
Maybe I should have seen, this coming from the start,
Maybe my eye wasn't so keen, to see you breaking my heart,
But that's my fault, for not seeing it sooner,
Maybe it's by default, that you're a happiness ruiner.
Who's to know , who's to judge?
I say so, because you've destroyed my courage.
Why play the game, of take and take more,
It'll never be the same, its no longer you I adore,
Don't you see what you've done, do you feel the emptiness?
Have you figured out, out of a million I'm the one, that could've completed your life, because it made perfect sense?
