Palestine is my beloved country, the country that I never got the chance to know or see, all I know about it is from pictures and other people who lived there ...but my dream and every Palestinian dream is to live there in peace, there isn't anything harder than not knowing our own country, the place that we're supposed to call home.
Palestine is a strategic land due to both its religious significance and geographic location. Throughout history it has been the center of the conflict and struggle between the Muslim World and Western Christendom. In the past century it has also become the center of the struggle between the Muslim World and the Jews. The significance of Palestine in the Islamic faith and throughout Islamic History is second only to the significance of Mecca and Madina. The loss of Palestine in 1948 is second only to the downfall of the Islamic Caliphate as the greatest loss to the Muslim Ummah in this century, and the two events are strongly interlinked.
1998 marks the 50th anniversary of the Nakba (cataclysm). In human terms,
that year saw the mass deportation of a million Palestinians from their cities
and villages, massacres of civilians, and the razing to the ground of hundreds
of Palestinian villages. In commemoration of these capital events in Palestine
history.
"The Palestinians felt that the world had abandon them, and since they don't have the weapons
to fight for their rights, they invented a unique way of fighting, using the most available
weapon "STONES".
The "INTIFADA" began in 1986, it was leaded and fought by kids of
ages between 10 to 16 (most of the older young men were already in prison), kids, women and
old people all united became the new army of Palestine, they simply refused to die , they new
what their goal is and went right ahead to accomplish it"
"FREEDOM".
Just when everyone thought the occupation is over; once again swept the landscape of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in
September 2000. Seven years of dialogue and negotiation had failed to address the needs of both peoples. The final catalyst for the violence was the visit on 28 September 2000, of Ariel Sharon, then head of the Israeli Likud party, (now Prime Minister) to the site known as Haram al Sharif This site is in the Old City in East Jerusalem and is the site of two of the most sacred mosques in Islam: the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa mosque.
