Watership Down follows the lives of a warren of rabbits on a quest to find the perfect place to live, breaking off from the dictatorial governing of the warren they once inhabited. They make it through various hardships- trying to keep away from their enemies and tell stories of El-ahrairah, their folk hero. After encountering Erafa, a warren whose leaders mistreat rabbits, the warren defeats Erafa at the climax. The surviving Erafans join Hazel, Bigwig, and the others to form a thriving warren.
