to believe or not to believe

Talking about religion, what's your belief? I'm a free-thinker, but sometimes, I do hope that a so called 'God' exists. There are many different beliefs in this world, more often than not, what u believed depends on where u were born. I hope u know what I'm saying.

Well, this is what I think, it may and may not be right. And it is not meant to offend anybody. So, be prepared before u read this…

Let's start from the basic, what affects the way u think? Generally speaking, it is due to the chemical reaction in your brain cells. But the outcome is more than just chemical products of carbon dioxide or water. U think, u judge, u conclude, u remember. What u think would be affected by various elements like living environment, friends, parents etc…

Now, there are a lot of unexplainable things happening everyday. Some are classified as ufo cases, some are just some human gimmicks to fool ppl , some are remained unclassified and some are classified as signs from 'up there'. Nowadays, ppl are trying their best, using the limited yet expanding knowledge to explain everything in a more scientific way. And I choose to believe things in this way. Let me ask u a simple logic question: do/does they/he/she use/s a pentiumIIIIIIIIIII chip up there? The answer is either yes or no, but u don't even know which is the correct answer. Why believe in something that is totally unrealistic?

Basically, there is a common trait between these religions. That is: it would make u a better person. Yes, in most cases, it does. As I have just mentioned, thinking ability is a result of chemical reaction. And because not every chemical reaction is perfect, we have the so called 'by-product'. Wars, conflicts, killings were triggered everywhere because ppl insist on what they believed is true. One of my friends said, 'it's not the fault of the rules, it's the matter of the way ppl practice it'. Yup, it is true to a certain extent. Afterall, the one who fixed those rules were originally human. To be more precise, those rules do not come from a written paper from the sky, it is just a product of chemical reaction.

If we traced back to the old days, we noticed common points along the forming of religions. The society were generally out of control, ppl started misbehaving. Maybe some geniuses sensed that there was a need to guide the lost sheep along the right way, at the same time, they knew the weaknesses of human and they try to provide solutions for what mere mortal brains can't come up with .

The ability to think and memorize is probably the best part of being a human. And because we can think, ppl start to search for freedom and human right. Judging a thing whether it is right is actually a very subjective and biased process. So, keep on believing in your faith, as long as it doesn't hurt you or anyone around you. How would I start to believe that 'he' actually exists??? I don't know, maybe when 'he' is actually standing in front of me… again, who knows it might be just an illusion because I lack sleeping.
