We Seek

What do we seek, when we look for a mate
Well, first of all, it's for more than one date
Someone to share our lives with, would be nice
With each one you meet, a roll of Fates' dice

We yearn to show our Love, to hold and caress
We don't mind receiving it to, we confess
To show mutual respect is a good start
Knowing you will miss each other, when you're apart

Someone who listens, when we speak, and does care
In times of need, you just know, they will be there
A person who will never harm you, mind or body
This is important, and must be a guarantee

We must each be our own person, do our own thing
But it need not cause conflict, the spread of a wing
A partnership in Love, to share Destiny's reward
To forget each others' feelings, you cannot afford

Someone who will ride out the harshest storm, and still smile
You are captivated by their ways, their moves, their style
When you find someone worthy, to call yours forever
An everlasting Love, no matter what, shall endure.
