The Northern Twilight Bison Ranch has been in operation since 1993.

The ranch is owned and operaterated by the Normandeau Family -- Guy, Karen, Nathaniel and Thomas. Located in Peace River Country in Northern Alberta, the 6 quarter sections of land support a healthy herd of 150 Bison.

Guy Normandeau has a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Alberta and Karen has a B.A. in Anthropology. The two boys are busy concentrating on becoming successful little cowboys.

Our herd   represents both quality and natural selection. With very low herd maintenance required, production costs are minimal. The "bison advantage" has given the industry a very hopeful future. A professional herd health program assures the healthfulness of the animals, while their natural instincts and adaptations take care of the rest.

Calves   are born small, 30 to 50 pounds, and hence very few problems are encountered during calving season. With a natural herd instinct, the calves are protected not only by their own mother but by the entire herd. Predators are not a threat to the largest land mammal in North America.

Horns are not removed from the breeding herd in an effort to keep the bison natural. The bison industry is witness to many opinions and as long as the "bison advantage" is not lost from site, the industry will continue to thrive and grow.
