What makes this photo so special?


To understand, to get the "feel" of it, it's important to know
our history.

Our United States of America have been under the gun since
the days those inspired Founding Fathers and the patriots 
who shared their dream decided to separate from the mother
country and it's King.

Many battles were fought and lives lost because enough men and
women heard that stirring inside that told them a country of
liberty, freedom, and justice for all was possible.




We hold these truths to be self-evident,
that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain
unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty
and the pursuit of Happiness.




Our liberty wasn't handed to us.   It was born by the exertion
of willpower and military might, gained by the shedding of
blood.

Current events show us that in order for those liberties and
freedoms to continue we must exert our military might again
and again.   As we did in World War I and World War II, we've
invoked our will and sent our armies forth to preserve what
we hold dear, a way of life unrivaled anywhere else on Earth.

This photo shows the flag of liberty waving freely in the breeze, being
admired by a crowd free from fear.   Above it, on the tail of a mighty 
military machine, waves the same flag, but this time it's being borne
by the very symbol of our might.  It's not by accident that the two
come together.

"Walk softly and carry a big stick" was the motto of a popular President
years ago.   Today the "Big Stick" is just as important to carry as it
was in the years of Theodore Roosevelt.

Long may our flag wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the
brave, but may our resolve be strong and our military might capable
of making it so.




And conquer we must when our cause is just
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
