October 5th, 2003

I ran with my sisters, Sarah and Suzie. Sarah made shirts for us that had our name on the front (See Betsy Run...) and a picture of the 3 of us as kids on the back. Here we are in the hotel room the morning of the race.

Mile 15 is where we first met up with family. Here we are before snatching up some oranges from Peter.

We didn't meet up with them again until mile 26. We were so happy to be near the end.

When it was all over, we got a few pictures in front of the capital. That's my little brother Tony in there. He ran it too, but he was a good hour or so ahead of us.

I think here we are trying to show off our calf muscles. This was a painful pose.

We also had a camera with us and took pictures throughout the whole marathon. Here are a few:

It really was a beautiful day to run a marathon.

I know it doesn't look like we are running, but we are! We were in a lot of pain here.

Sarah seems to be stretching out a few kinks here.

Here I am with my inhaler in hand. I had two asthma attacks, but kept on running!

This must have been early on because we look too good. Do you see Mini Mouse behind us?

Suzie and Sarah running backward for the camera. And yes, that's Mini Mouse in front of us. She did end up beating us.

Here we are hitting the "wall" around mile 20. Personally, I hit the wall around mile 17 and was in pain the next 9 miles.

We are so close to being done!

The finishing stretch. What a wonderful feeling! It was by far not my best finishing time, but I had fun.

Check out the professional photos!

Near the Finish Line

All Done!

We can't be seen in this picture, but here is the start.

My brother David took some videos of us with his digital camera.

Here we are between mile 15 and 16, getting oranges from Peter.

This is us right before the finish. Behind us are the balloons that mark mile 26. Only .2 more miles to go!
