Kerry Morgans Foundation

The stallions of the breed receive most of the hype and publicity, but it is the mares that are the jewels of the breeding farm. They carry our future and it is through their greatness that the breed advances towards the ideal. We proudly salute the mares of Kerry:

Big Bend June Morn

Windcrest Play Boy x Velvet R.M.

June Morn was purchased from Mrs. William Barton of Big Bend Farm in 1964. She produced several foals under the Cedarcrest prefix before founding the Kerry line. Her son by Applevale Replica, Kerry Sean (foaled 1976), is still being used at Karen Wood's Westbrook Farm. At Kerry we used her Replica daughters Cedarcrest Tamara (1970), Cedarcrest Cinnamon (1971), and Kerry Eire (1975) in our broodmare band.

Highover Coralyn

Donlyn of Wind-Crest x Cornie

Purchased from Katherine Thompson of Highover Farm as a weanling in 1973. Coralyn produced 3 gelded sons and 3 daughters with the Kerry prefix. Her Kerry Caress was a regional winner in hand and English pleasure at the Gold Cup and Jubilee shows. Daughters Kerry Creation (by Replica) and Kerry Cherish (by JJ's Monarch) have been exceptional producers.

Fantasy's Melodee

Windcrest Play Boy x Shaker's Shillelah

"Melsie" was purchased on the "spur of the moment" at the Triple Creek/Cedar Creek/Shaker Hill auction back in 1983. She was, without a doubt, the best buy we have ever made. On top of her excellent temperament and riding ability (we used Mel for showing, parades, trail rides, and even civil war re-enacting), she produced 6 foals for us. Two of her three daughters were used in our broodmare band (Shannon's Kerry Colleen by Chantwood Charterson and also Kerry Ariel by Serendipity Aries B) while her last son, Kerry B Quest (by Aries B), left us three foals for our future before his untimely death at age 2.

Tara's Cotillion

Tara's Hallmark x Top-T Debutante

The newest addition to the mare line of Kerry is one of our all-time favorite mares of the breed. Thanks to the generosity of Jay Kleiber and Julie Ouska we were privileged to have Cotillion in our stable for 3 years. One of the top show mares of her younger days, Cotillion is also the dam of 11 registered foals including the homozygous black stallion Kerry On (by Kerry B Quest) and our Kerry Vision (by Kerry Freedom), in whom we've placed great hopes for the future.
