Karen's Poetry Corner

The planet's artists produce some of the best poetry around. (some of it's a little odd, but hey, what can you do?) If you want to send me your own groovy poetry, just look for the planet's address at the bottom of the page!

Hmm... I think I smell a cherry blossom! Whatever could it be? Ooo! A light at the end of this darkened hallway! For poetry of a different kind, click here!

non-rhyming ode to a scandinavian lust puppy.

oh lustful puppy
of scandinavian origin
why did they not neuter you?
why leave you alone?

for now you are humping
my brother's leg
never mind.

he likes it.

Dusk is Come

I walk away from your hand I don't think I can stay
My eyes say what I cannot like the wind blows away
And maybe at winter I'll come again it's not like a snowbird's
Own nest-place I said maybe you love me and maybe you don't
well the sun's going down dusk is come
Dreams are like candy to me but you never understood
You said that religion is dead i always knew you would
Summer vacation a quick holiday i fall in love then i never can
stay maybe you love me but then again maybe your feelings are
all in my head well dusk is come
Only in parting do you feel shame the car isn't starting the
gas light is on so I start walking you call out my name
oh yes pretty sweet me oh yes the raven is free
And maybe you love me and maybe you don't you say i'm a temple
to worship you won't I am a person you're seeing that now
the sun is down dusk is come oh yes dusk is come oh yes
dusk is...gone

The Toejam Poem

(it could be a song, my advice: don't ask)
Toejam Toejam Toejam
It's really really good
I eat it when i shouldn't
and even when I should
It's like candy-coated chocolate
with an aftertaste of wood
Toejam Toejam Toejam
You are so very good!
(this was submitted anonymously to me a while ago. Anyone want to own up to it?)

The Bird

Someday I wish to be a bird
with giant wings and silken feathers
to fly towards beauty
never stopping, yet never tired
to fly towards the unfolding of the earth
never stopping, yet never tired
to when time began
never stopping, yet never tired
and when I reach my destination,
and my wings are finally rested
and my soul is finally at peace
then I will live forever
never stopping, yet never tired.

Earth Mother

I am, I was, I will ever be
Doubt and Fear are part of me
I am love, honour, trust
I am hope, courage, lust

I am the sun, the wind, the rain
Always different, yet the same
I am, I was, I will ever be
Everything is part of me

I am stars and night sky
I am who will live and who will die
I am, I was, I will ever be
Power and death are part of me

I am humble, I am devine
I am yours, but you are mine
I am, I was, I will ever be
I am you, but you're part of me

My Little City

Under the rock in my garden
the little city...

I run away from the bright lights
I run away from the cars
I run away from life to hide
in the little city.

The darkness is so comforting
better than the light of day
under the rock in my garden
is where I'm going forever

Don't be afraid of the little city
don't be afraid of it's closeness
it has protective walls to keep you in
to keep you in forever
