The Christmas Angel
There is a land of dreams and things
A place of wondrous sights
Where people sing and laugh
There are sugar plum fairies and
Pumpkin pie bears and marshmallow dolls
Turkey and trimmings and cranberry drinks
Merriment, gifts and jovial winks
Then in the midst of this most pleasant day
We are reminded of why we celebrate
Sometimes I wonder if we really know
Because when reminded we feel selfish
Selfish for wanting the gifts, the food and the fun
We lower our heads and remember the Christ child
We think of his life and sacrifice
How the wise men brought gifts to him
Well today I thought about it all and an angel answered
"Enjoy the day he came to atone and remove guilt,
Enjoy the company because he loved his friends
Enjoy the food as he multiplied the loaves
Enjoy the drink he turned water into wine
Enjoy the presents they celebrate your likeness to him
Most of all feel the love of life it's his gift to you"
So I say "Merry Christmas to all fellow travelers
on the great blue marble as we spin our way through life"
