Fierce Elements in a Friend
A small package alluringly unconcerned laughed aloud
Beguiling smile of unconscious
freedom unrealized
Flowed like lava over me cacooning
me in molten ice
What fierce elements inhabit you
and encase my thought
When is a dream a lie - when is
a lie a dream
Neither are either and yet dreams
and lies go on
And truth is but a dream in an
amber glass of wine
My mind can only conceive my truth
and never know yours
What fierce heart beats inside,
beats at the wall's integrity
When it finally falls a path to
freedom's gate awaits
And like a tiger you will fear
no thing and bow to no one
Like a book unread you will unfold
and find the fire
There is truth in dreams unlived
a lie in dreams that thrive
The most precious thing we can
know or ever hope to know
Is the measure of our freed spirit
in the rain of a storm
And the trembling of our hearts
in the light touch of desire
