Love Letters

Follow me
She whispered softly
Let me take you to a place
 She lit the candle
He followed her
As shadows cast upon her face
He shouldn't go
Nor should she but
The invite was quite rewarding
The cabin in the woods
He saw the trees
The little brook
And wondered if he should
The fireplace lit
The comforter down
pages of poetry
strewn all around
He sat beside her
not a word was said
he took a pen from his pocket
he began to write

along side her
He looked up
She smiled
and they continued on
while misty droplets
quietly kissed the window pane
she finished before him
then sat back
he glanced over at her page
"Love Letters" the title read
he smiled
and then replied "In The Rain."

In the Rain

Looking in
the cabin window
reflections of
the falling rain
and the rainbow
colored leaves
I see me
walking through
the rain
I feel me walking
wet and cooled
Inside the dark log room
I see you  there
By the glow of the
red dancing warmth
Writing from your
undiscovered soul
so sweetly
I lay by you
and start a poem
Symmetry meets us
We end our words as one
Trading verse
and funny whispers
Loves your target
letters sweet
Things that I could never feel
In this place

All things suspended
The voice inside me silenced here
You  pen in violet ink  "Love Letters"
Scrawled in azure blue I write
"In the rain"
