My Life as a quilt by Henri Peter

My Life as a Quilt

Being a quilt is not to be walked on,

Not to be unnoticed.

To be a quilt, there must be color,

There will be warmth and strength

A quilt that molds and enfolds,

A tender caress, a warm place.

Wrapped in my security, you smile.

Wrapped in the rainbow, you beam.

I bend, but do not fall apart

I am strong, but not controlling.

I protect you from the frozen tears.

But always, it's you that gives me shape

I am the patchwork

You are the thread
