This beautiful, delicate Tapestry is based onShakespeare's lines from his famous Sonnet VII
(The darling buds of May)
The words were written in regards to the female but
equally apply to Nature. The figure was inspired by a painting which is assumed
to show Shakespeare as young man.
The foliage on the left and right of the figure are
two different species of Eucalyptus trees and their flowers
The flowers are raised, securely knotted into the weaving
The gold thread used for the figure is non tarnishing
metalised polyester, as is the blue of the coat.
