Novocain for the Soul

The designer racks of styled clothes
caress the skin and soothe the scars.
Relieve deep pains from days gone by,
forcing smiles like moonlit stars.

New loves appear and hearts go wild,
from simple words of beauty told.
Rays of hope for my soul to keep,
fade as love’s breath grows old.

A gentle kiss on a winter’s day,
brings warmth to toes and hands once blue.
The tempting hand of nature’s touch
leave tendered hopes of a love that’s true.

One day I’ll walk that razor’s edge,
and find a lasting happiness.
Where trees stay green in blue lit skies,
no past sins again to confess.
