my duckies |
Meet my duckies, i have named them though since they grew so rapidly it was hard to keep track. they looked so different when they were ducklings! sadly, we only have 4 left from the first 10 we ordered. Theyre Rouen ducks, a cousin of the mallard. Theyre alot larger than the mallard and cannot fly. mine try to fly, they can kinda get gliding if they "walk" on the water aswell. Ill get a picture of that if i can, its funny to see. just recently, we orderd two more batches of ducks but we lost the entire first 10 to a possum. by the time we caught the possum we only had 2 left of the seccond 10. So, up to date we have 6 ducks total, two are still teens, and becoming more beautiful every day. |
below, todays four surviving adult ducks live happily on the pond behind our house, we feed them corn and a mix of aqua culture feed. this year the hens started laying eggs, she hasnt yet sat on them so were excited to see if there are some more baby ducks on our pond some time soon. if i see any, il be sure to take pictures and update you on them. ive only located one nest, ill take a picture of it and keep track. =) |
