Will You Be Mine?

Hey, you never know ;o)

Will You Be Mine, Prince William?

Hey, people, thanks for coming. Welcome to "Will You Be Mine, Prince William?" My name is Emma, and as you can see, this is my web page dedicated to the beautiful and admirable Prince William. I haven't really gotten started yet, and I apologize for that. Until I get my butt in gear, I'll just fill this space with little bits of information about me. Like I said, my name is Emma. I'm fifteen years old (I'll be sixteen on October 23, 1998). I live in New York, I'm a junior in high school,... Unfortunately (for me, not you :) that's about it. I'm kinda into sports, kinda against popularity. Why do I like Prince William? Um, well, of course he's quite good looking... but... let's just say I can identify with him. I promise I'll update soon, ok? Until then, sign my guestbook and/or go ahead and email me (I'm bored, I'll reply right away!) justsomegirl@home.com.

"Hummmph," Emma sighed as she glanced at her newly completed web page. "Well," she thought, "it's not much, but it's a start."

Logging on to the internet several days later, Emma rushed to edit her page. First, though, curiosity got the best of her. She went to check her counter and read her guestbook (all you web page owners out there know what I'm talking about!). "Hmmm," she thought outloud, "one hundred and twenty nine visitors in the first week. I think that's pretty good." She went on to read her guestbook. She felt a thrill when she noticed that it read "Total Entries: 1." "Yes! An entry!" She read on:
Name: Just Some Guy

Comments: What is it with you girls and Prince William ? I mean, come on, he's not that good looking ;o) it was a joke, don't be offended, please? Hey, Emma (like the Spice Girl, right?), you seem pretty cool - I'd like to get to know you a little better. If you haven't been completely repelled by this, could you perhaps email me sometime? Toodles.

(Author's note: I don't want to get in trouble here. OK, don't go emailing that address or anything - it's part of the story, it's not real, and it's (obviously) not Prince William. Also, I doubt William uses words like 'toodles," but I couldn't resist!)

Emma was a little wary of meeting people on the internet. "You seem pretty cool - I'd like to get to know you a little better"? Um, sure, and she had never heard the Spice Girl thing before... "OK, Emma," retorted her sensible inner self, "give the guy a break! You know how hard it is to truly express yourself over the internet - no laughter, no gestures, no eye contact, no contact period. Besides, he seems nice, kinda goofy cute... in a way." Still, it was a bit unsettling. Emma had never expected to receive many male visitors to her page, let alone one so eager to contact her.
