Bkk Nightlife -The Southern Andaman Cost

From the Saisako Pier to the southern province of Phuket, the deluxe Seatran Queen cruise is heading south towards the Andaman Islands, two hours' sail from the Phuket Island. Here are to be found the Phi Phi Island, which are among the top ten beautiful islands of the world. The Phi Phi Islands ard situated in the South of the Andaman Sea off Ao Nang Sub-district of Krabi Province, some 40 kilometres from town. They house Sea Gypsies or known as "Chao Le", who are descended from the region's oldest inhabitants.

The islands were named after a kind of tree, similar to mangrove and has been found along the beach around the island.
Apart from the beauty of the islands, this is where numerous swallows' nests have been found and they become a major product which generates hight income to the province. These swallows come from Siberia during November-May each year. Viking Cave or later known as Phaya Nak Cave is the place where most swallows build their nests.

   Around the Phi Phi Islands there are many splendid small islands nearby and magnificent coral reefs. Further south is Ko Hin Ngam, an island which forms part of the Tarutao National Park in Satun Province. It is surrounded with several islands, namely Rawi, Adang, Dong and Li Pae. At Ko Hin Ngam the finest stones in Thailand and probably in the world are found.
    Beyond Ko Hin Ngam to the East is the Kata Island where many tourists enjoy scuba diving to have a glimpse of underwater scenery and coral reefs. It is also pleasant to wade through white and soft sand here.
    The visit to the southern Andaman coast will not be complete without stopping at the Adang Island, which is internationally famous for beautiful coral reefs shallow waters.

The Beach

To the South, three hours' sail from the Adang Island is Ko Khai with a long beach down to the sea. Here large sea turtles lay eggs during November-January each year. Ko Khai which means the Egg Island has, thus, become a symbol of the Tarutao National Park.
