Heidi's Poetry

Grandpas'

Grandpas are made to love and to hold

Grandpas also seem to get very, very old

There's that special person deep down inside them

That special someone that always makes you abide him

He's very kind and loving, always there to comfort you when there's sorrow on your face

He's here to teach his grandchildren about a wonderful, beautiful place

He tries to tell you right from wrong

But his grandchildren think he's just preaching that same old song

You see grandpas are so very special, and I had one so I should know

And sometimes he might hurt you by something he has said

But he's only trying to help you and get it through your head

So take one day at a time

It's that special something he has all the time

But he's ony here for a very short time

And when he is gone you will never forget

How warm and so loving a grandpa can get.

That's my best poem and here's some of the rest:

Lost Souls

I see two stars in summers' night

Hovering, lost in blind light

Each so dull in heavens' net

So each remain, as yet unmet

But fortune moves in strangest ways

It lengthens nights, it shortens days

May this night end and day begin

And bring two people back again.

Love's Dream

Everyday I shall think of you

Everynight I shall dream of you

One day you will come for me

One night you will be one with me

Love burns eternal if its true

It does not die, I will always love you.

Love Stays

Hours fly

Flowers die

New days

New ways

Pass by

Love stays

We Are Right

I am wild

He is calm

We are the opposite

Yet we are the same

We are right.

We are right for each other

We are right in many ways

We love one another

But our love is a different haze.

Precious Lives

Did you think it wouldn't happen?

Did you think it wasn't real?

You thought of only fun and games

As you got behind the wheel.

You knew that it was stupid

But you didn't stop to think

You got into the car that night

You'd had too much to drink

You didn't even see the tree

You were going much too fast

You all drew in a sharp breath

A breath that was her last

Three precious lives were lost that night

You weren't the first to die

We think of you lovingly

As each day passes by

This poem is a warning

To each and everyone

The results of drunken driving

Can never be undone.

I wrote that poem in memory of a girl that I knew

back in 1989, i wrote the poem because

she was killed by her father in a

drunk driving accident
