Education: I have two years of college under
my belt from the University of Maryland, Cities Collages of Chicago, and Hawaii Pacific
University; I am one class away from an Associates Degree in Supervisory Leadership from
Hawaii Pacific University. I have been accepted as a degree-seeking student at DePaul
University as a part of their School for New Learning adult program. I hope to complete my
Liberal Arts Degree by the end of the Year 2000.
Greatest Life Experience: Living in Sinop
Turkey for 1.5 year and falling in love for the first time in my life at 21. Although I
was later to lose her (she wanted her independence), we explored Turkey and Greece
together, sharing unbelievable sights, sound, experiences with one another. It taught me
the true meaning of friendship and love.
What I feel are my best qualities: My
ability to take each person I meet at face value, without judging them by what I see on
the surface. The ability to love despite the pain and scarring I’ve suffered in the
past. My unswerving devotion to the lost art of being a gentleman at ALL times, not
just when it suits my needs!!
What I hope to pass on to all who meet me: That
Black men have the capacity to feel, to love, to hope and dream, and are capable of
devotion, passion, honesty and respect. We are not all the media and stereotypes makes us
out to be; we are not sex crazed monsters after every woman that moves and has fair skin;
we are not all drug dealers or pips, who perpetrate violence; we are not all stupid, lazy
and have no sense of family. On the contrary we are hard workers and can be a
success in our chosen fields. We are human and like all humans, we need love, tenderness,
romance and friendship and fellowship in order to survive!
What I would like to see happen in the world
today: That the poison racism and bigotry be erased from the face of the Earth and we
can all learn to love each other and live together in harmony.
