I       I'm sure most of you know who Eastcide is... this local rapcore band based out of Taunton is blowing up all over the place lately, mainly due to their appearence on the USA show Farmclub.com hosted by Matt Pinfield.  Their new CD "Timeli(n)e" was ready to be released, but now that they have got a lot of label attention they are waiting to record more songs once they sign.  You can look for that within a few months, but for now keep checking www.eastcide.com for the latest info.  here is the interview with Markie B.

Derek: First off, tell me who is in the band, what they play and how long you have been together.

Mark: Jakob Christ - Vocals,  Champy - Guitar,  Swifty - Drums, KoolAid -  Guitar, Luke Duke - Bass, Markie B - DJ/Samples and we have been around for  about 5  years

Derek: Have you guys had a lot of line up changes in the past?    Mark: We have had a few, but now we seem to be at our strongest point.

Derek: How did you get hooked up with Matt Pinfield on Farmclub.com?
Mark: We did a show called SK8-98 and he was the host, Matt was into us and  we  ended up partying with him in our hotel till we had to throw him out at  5am,  he is a great guy.

Derek: Since you played on Farmclub.com you guys have blown up, how much attention have you been getting from labels?
Mark: The whole Farmclub.com thing has been great to us, we have made more  fans and it was great that poeple who knew of us finally had the chance to  see us  live.  A lot of good things have come out of farmclub.

Derek: What was your very first show?  What was it like?
Mark: Our first show was probably like every bands first show, horrible.

Derek: What show sticks out as being the craziest show you ever played?
Mark: Wow...There are so many crazy shows we played, Locobazooka '97,  Locobazooka '99, Sk8-98, our tours with Six Cents were always crazy

Derek: As far as touring goes, how much of the U.S. have you covered?
Mark: We have hit every state on the eastcoast and a few others so far, but  we  should hit everywhere this summer.

Derek: Who are your favorite bands to play with?
Mark: We play with so many bands it is hard to say, but we have a lot of  fun  with, Six Cents, Nok, Puya, Nothingface, Grinspoon, OBC, G-Soul.

Derek: Are there any young local bands that you have been impressed with that maybe we should keep an eye out for?
Mark: Hell yeah, the local scene is great in New England, some of my favs  are:  Darkbuster,  Nok, CTK, Simple, Colepitz, Shed, Gansta Bitch Barbie, too  many  to name.

Derek: What do you do outside music?
    Mark: Party, sleep, party, sleep.......

Derek: What words of advice would you give to someone just starting out in a band?
Mark: Don't give up, keep playing what you want and what you feel, and have  FUN.

Derek: Is there anyone you would like to thank?
Mark: You, and all our fans that really keep us going. The internet....   Thanks
