A couple of years ago I had placed in the Terminal a plaque in rememberance of a crew of ours lost in Bay St. George. Also placed in the Terminal a display case with representative Rescu aircraft. I would love to see you include a picture of this somewhere on your page. It took some work but many squadron members contributed and I took it up and the Terminal people were very helpful in getting is set up.......I was part of Flight B, 6t Air Rescue Squadron which, in November 1953 became the 52d Air Rescue Squadron. I was at Harmon from September 1952 to August 1954.... Spent some very impressionable years there. I have been fortunate to get back there '96 and '98 and am still hoping o get there again this July....Keep up the good work on your page.../roger |

I have been looking at web sites in the Stephenville area, many of these I got through the Downhomer and some throught the courtesy of Jean Lane. Pictures on your site sure brought back alot of emories. I made many trips up Indian Head while at Harmon. It is ironic to me that I have been working with a fellow here in Georgia that was on the Corps of Engineers crew that blasted out the cut on Indian Head to gain access to the port. The picture wh re Beavercraft seems to look something like the building that was a grocery store back when I was stationed at Harmon. I'm thinking of one that was on the right side of Main street walking from the base to the beach. The picture of the locomotive is reall neat. I think everyone in Stephenville that has looked at your site is very proud of it. Thanks for sharing your memories and talents with the world. Good luck to you and yours. |
